City Safari

Dress: Arden B.   Blazer: The Limited   Necklace: Forever 21   Watch: Michael Kors   Bracelets: Brown Beads: Gifted, Black, Clear, Brown Beads: H&M   Ring: Forever 21   Sunglasses: H&M   Shoes: Seychelles (DSW)

So you know there is something team serious going on at work if I am wearing a blazer.  My work environment is pretty casual, so it isn't often that you get all that dressed up.  I had some pretty big meetings at work, so hence the blazer.  The rouching on the sleeves of this blazer make it special though.  I am all about the something special.  I have to say although I live in the midwest capital of the USA, there still are some pretty places to photograph around the area.  I am all about the statement necklace.  Cheap statement necklaces from Forever 21 or H&M are even better.  I am all about a bargain...period.  These shoes from Seychelles are so comfortable for heels!  The braiding detail is what really drew me in.

Hippie Tie Dye

Maxi Dress: Macy's   Shirt: H&M   Sunglasses: Target   Necklace: The Limited   Watch: Michael Kors   Bracelets: Vintage Silver Bangle: Gifted, Teal Beads: Gap, Crystal: The Limited, White Beads: Forever 21, Clear and Black Beads: H&M   Ring: The Limited   Handbag: Nordstrom   Shoes: G by Guess (DSW)

So this weekend in the park across from my house is a festival called Comfest.  It is called this because it is a community festival, but really it is known to bring out the hippies.  I was obviously trying to channel my inner hippie with this tie dye dress I got from Macy's.  I LOVE this dress!  I feel like maxi's are the perfect way to do tie dye in your wardrobe.  They already have an earthy feel so to add tie dye just seems natural.  So I figured I would have my friends make guest appearances on the blog every so often so here are my super fashionable friends Laura and Kelly that I work with pictured above!  They both have such great style and I definitely look to them for style advice.  Also, a BIG thanks to my friend Becca for taking these fab photos!  My friends have been so supportive of this blog starting up and I obviously couldn't do it without all of them so thanks to everyone that has helped me so far with taking pics!  You know who you are :)

Shirt: Express   Maxi Dress: The Limited   Necklace: Old Navy   Ring: Forever 21   Bracelets: Gold: World Market, Brown and Cream Beads: H&M, Brown Beads: Gifted   Watch: Michael Kors   Shoes: DV by Dolce Vita (DSW)

So I have been really into taking my dresses and making them into skirts by adding a top.  That way I get the most bang for my buck!  I always stop in Old Navy every once in awhile to get some basic pieces for less, and I came across this tribal necklace.  They had some really awesome jewelry!  I heard they got a new jewelry buyer in and it honestly is worth checking out.  These sandals are AMAZING!!! They are so comfortable and the mix of the leopard print and beaded medallion gives you the option to wear these whether you are dressed up or down.

Vintage Inspired

Dress: Anthropologie   Tank: The Loft   Lace Vest: Lauren Conrad for Kohl's   Necklace: H&M   Bracelets: Yellow: Gap, Pink Beads: American Eagle, Brown and Cream Beads: H&M, Turqoise Beads: Gap   Watch: Michael Kors   Rings: Pink Bead: H&M, Rosette: Forever 21   Sunglasses: H&M   Shoes: Mia Girl (DSW)   Nails: Francesca's Collections Turqs and Caicos

Love love love Anthropologie!  This dress was a steal on the sale rack there.  That's usually where I head first when I shop there honestly :)  I love the layers and navy is becoming the new black.  OK not really, but it definitely looks great on everyone.  But seriously I could live in Anthro.  I decorated my entire living room to look like the store.  I am obsessed.  This lace vest from Lauren Conrad is the perfect piece to dress up any look.  These woven flats from Mia Girl keep with the whole vintage feel that I was going for.  H&M if you can't tell is one of my go to places for accessories.  I have so much jewelry and I do feel like accessories really do complete any outfit so why not get more for less?  But I found this necklace on its own on the rack and I knew it had to be mine.

Neon Glam

Shirt: Forever 21   Skirt: Gap   Shoes: G by Guess (DSW)   Sunglasses: Target   Necklaces: H&M   Bracelets: Clear and Black Beads: H&M, Turquoise Beaded: Gap, Purple Rhinestones: Gap, Burgundy Jewels: The Limited   Yellow Bangle: The Limited   Ring: The Limited   Watch: Michael Kors   Nails: Francesca's Collections Turqs and Caicos

So I am kinda obsessed with Neon and Royal Blue right now.  These necklaces from H&M are perfect to add to any outfit to give it an edge.   All the celebs were rocking the royal blue maxi skirts so I needed to have one.  I recently bought this skirt at the Gap and I love it!  The color is perfect and I must say Gap had some super cute things when I was in there.  I love mixing prints with bold colors so I totally think rocking some zebra stripes spiced up this look.  And honestly who doesn't love these neon sunglasses right now?  Everyone needs a pair for summer...no seriously everyone.

Wedding Bliss

Dress: Jessica Simpson (Macy's)   Earrings: H&M   Belt: The Limited   Pink Sequin Clutch: The Limited   Shoes: Diego di Lucca (DSW)   Bangles: Yellow - The Limited, Print - Forever 21   Watch: Michael Kors   Rings: Print Cocktail Ring - Forever 21, Silver Heart - Lia Sophia   Nail Polish: Francesca's Collections Turqs & Caicos

So wedding season is in full force!  This is 3rd wedding out of 6 this year!!!  One of my bestest college friends from the one and only Kent State got married this weekend!  I love when all of us college friends are together.  Bonded for LIFE.  Blue is for sure my favorite color on myself.  It totally brings out my blue eyes so win/win for Kelly.  I loved that my nail polish matched exactly with the ruffles in the dress.  Jessica Simpson has some uber cute stuff out there.  I really thought the yellow accents made the whole outfit pop.  On a final note, how dapper does my date Drew look???

My Very First Post!

Wow my very first post! I have always wanted to start my own blog, but never thought it was the right time.  But honestly when is the right time?  I have a passion for fashion(nice tagline huh?) and always have my friends asking me for style advice and to remix their wardrobe.  Rachel Zoe is pretty much my icon.  I am currently in the fashion industry, but my dream is to be a celebrity stylist.  So my blog is about a girl in fashion, living in the midwest capital city Columbus, OH dreaming of the big life.  I am in my twenties so I don't have the money to buy designer duds as of yet, so this fashion blog is definitely geared towards girls my age starting out who want to be trendy and fabulous.  I call myself the style mixologist because I love mixing and matching prints and styles!  One day I am punk rock and the next boom I am boho chic.  Can't wait to get this thing started! I thought I would post a couple pics of me and my super awesome friends in some of my fave outfits to date so you get a taste of my style! Oh yea and I dabbled with reddish brown as a hair color, but my  heart is a blond and that's what I am currently again!  Until next time...
