the best of 2013





























It is hard to believe that it has been two full years that I have been doing this blog.  I started it just wanting to share my love for fashion, and it has now become such a huge and amazing part of my life.  I still have quite the learning curve on what I want this blog to become, but I am learning everyday!  I just want to say a HUGE THANK YOU to all of my readers out there, whether they are family, friends, or beyond.  Also, I want to give a heartfelt thank you to all my photographers especially Colin Walsh who has ton the bulk of these shoots.  Your dedication and hard work has meant more to me than you know.  Here's to an amazing 2014!!!

The holidays are fast approaching, so it is hard not to have your holiday fashion hat on all the time.  Like I showed in my last post, when I think holidays, I think glitz and glam.  I am such a big fan of mixing prints and textures; and this outfit does just that.  A good way to add velvet to your wardrobe is in a classic blazer like this one from The Limited.  I love the luxe look of velvet and sequins together, so I thought I would keep it casual on the bottom half of my outfit.  Dress shorts and tights are another favorite look of mine, and these over-sized polka dot shorts are absolutely adorable!  This fantastic bag is so unique with color blocking and a pop of animal print.  I have a holiday party next weekend and thought this outfit might be just right.  What are some of your holiday go-to outfits?

Holiday Inspiration

So it is no surprise that the holiday's bring out the glitz and glam in the girly girls of the world.  I happen to be one of those girly girls.  I wanted to put together a collection of some of my favorite holiday pieces and looks.  Be prepared for a LOT of shine.  Also, textures like tweed, leather, and fur are making big statements.  I am also still in love with oversized dress shorts (like the plaid pair above) with a pair of tights and heels for an uber trendy look.  Last, but not least scarves keep getting bigger and bigger this season.  The bigger the better really.  I am obsessed with the Pom Pom scarf above from Anthro.  So adorable.  While you are out there buying gifts for your loved ones, go ahead and feel free to treat yourself.  You deserve it! :)
